Short Term Disability

The University provides Short-Term disability benefits through Standard to all monthly full-time employees during the regular calendar year after a 1-year waiting period from Date of Hire. This benefit is used for absences due to an employee's own serious medical condition (not a family member). All claims must be approved by Standard before any benefit is paid out. There is no cost to you for the Short-Term disability coverage - Bradley University pays the full premium for this benefit.

Full-time regular employee's salary payments will be continued by the University according to the following schedule:

  • 1st month - 100% of salary
  • 2nd month - 80% of salary

If your leave goes beyond 2 months, Standard then reviews the claim for continued eligibility benefits. If approved, benefits are paid as follows:

  • 3rd - 6th month - 60% of salary
